Sister Nazek | Iraq

Nazek Khalid Matty was born in Bagdad in 1975 as the daughter of catholic parents . Since 1995, she belongs to the order of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena.

She studied Philosophy and Theology at the Babel College in Iraq. Afterwards, he completed her licenciate in Sacred Scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute "Biblicum" in Rome.

For her graduation in Biblical Theology at Oxford University, she received a scholarship from the Institute of Missiology. In her dissertation, she examined the influence of the Mesopotamian literature on the bible and pointed out the importance of her native country Iraq for Christian faith.

She is one of the talented young professionals promoted by the MWI, and she will be engaged in the formation of the religious of the Dominican order and in teaching Theology.
