Mikado - Catholic missiology library and documentation center

With a total of more than 140.000 medias is Mikado in Germany one of the biggest specialized libraries on the issues of world church, contextual theologies and philosophies.

The collection of Mikado, the missiology library and the catholic documentation office of the MWI and missio Aachen contains monographs, reviews and a collection of non-published documents of Africa, Asia, Latin America and Oceania. 

The main objective is to collect:

  • contextual theologies and philosophies of Africa, Asia, Latin America and Oceania;
  • missiology and religious studies;
  • interreligious dialogue;
  • situation of the local church in Africa, Asia and Oceania;
  • human rights, freedom of religion;
  • chosen belletristic litterature in German from the non-european continents.

Our library is a unique source of information for students, pupils, teachers, journalists and people interested theologically and at the world church level.

Books can be borrowed and you may demand us for copies of articles.
