Twelve scholarship holders of the Institute of Missiology have participated at the annual meeting at Leuven. Three of them hail from Africa, the others from Asia. Of the Institute of Missiology Dr. Annette Meuthrath, Dr. Marco Moerschbacher and the Director, Dr. Harald Suermann, participated. Two of the scholarship holders presented their work, which were discussed in groups afterwards.
Fr. Damian Dal presented in detail the difficult situation of the Church in Myanmar. Max Regus from Indonesia spoke about the situation of the religious minorities in Indonesia and the discriminating handling of the Muslim dominated majority society with these minorities. Peter Kantembe of Malawi has shown his results of his empiric research about the situation of children in Malawian hospitals.
The discussions have been very interesting and stimulating and that is why it was also important that common prayers and social aspects found place during the meeting.
The next scholarship holder meeting will take place in Leuven from 6. to 8. November 2015.
"I celebrated my golden jubilee of my priesterhood with a three-day pilgrimage by foot with my former parish and with a High Mass. I look back with gratitude, praying for the MWI scholarship holders and their way with their communities. In favor of a donation for thescholarship holders I dispensed with gifts in order to express my spiritual and material solidarity with still emerging church in the south."
