Pater Ludwig Wiedenmann SJ, former Director of the MWI, died

With deep sadness and dismay we heard the news that Father Ludwig Wiedenmann SJ died on Saturday, April 25th, 2020 in the nursing home in Unterhaching near Munich.

From 1979 to 1988 he was the director of the Institute of Missiology Missio e.V. in Aachen. The long-time employees still fondly remember this time and his friendly, calm and considered way of running the institute. Even after his active time as a director, he remained closely connected to the MWI and actively participated in the further developments. We owe his efforts, among other things, to the fact that the Jesuit Mission Library has been integrated into our Mikado library.

He will remain in our memories beyond his death and we are grateful that we were allowed to work with him. The alumni who received a scholarship under his leadership still remember it with gratitude.

In this difficult time we will remember him in our prayers. R.I.P.

I am surprised but very proud about the donations to my jubilee

„What the MWI is doing, is an example of sustainable help. If the celebration of my diamond jubilee contributes to this help, all the better!“
