Marginalized Africa
An international perspective.
Marginalized Africa

Marginalisation is a common problem but it is not experienced in the same way in the different regions of the world. As a follow-up to some International Consultations which have addressed different theological and other themes, and at the occasion of celebrating the Jubilee Year 2000, Uganda Martyrs University and the Institute of Missiology Missio (MWI), Aachen, organized a Consultation on the theme: "The Jubilee contextualized in marginalized Africa today", at Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi, Uganda, between 1-6 May 2000. While the consultation had its main focus on Africa, the participants came from different countries and the analysis of the phenomenon of marginalization received international perspectives and was thus extended outside Africa. The eleven chapters found in this book are papers, which were originally presented at the Consultation. They explore the thime of the biblical Jubilee and marginalization from different angles. Although the presentations were originally prepared with the Jubilee Year in mind, the general theme of marginalization, which they dealt with in the African, and international contexts remains factual and need our attention.
