Starting with January 2007, the Institute of Missiology launched a PR-campaign with a prayerful series called "Psalms of the Peoples". Earlier last year we invited and encouraged our partners in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Oceania to send us verses expressing the whole range of human emotions presented to God in the different cultural settings and situations of their home countries: heartfelt hopes, trust, despair, lamentations, thanks and praise. And indeed, powerful verses, original as to poetry and wisdom, reached us in the meantime. From January to December 2007 selected texts from the various continents will be published in the well-known German pastoral periodical "Anzeiger für die Seelsorge". 

The texts of these presentations reflect the attitude and relationship of our Institute towards other cultures and churches as well as their respective theologies and spiritualities. In January an Indian Psalm has opened the series of publications. Psalms from Kenya and Ecuador will follow in February and March. Thereafter will be prayerful expressions from Mauritius, Brazil, China, Benin, Argentina, Myanmar, DR Kongo and Uruguay. At the end of this PR-campaign we intend to publish a small booklet with a selection of these "Psalms of the Peoples".
