The Plenary Assembly of ACUHIAM (Association of Catholic Universities and Higher Institutes of Africa and Madagascar) was held in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, from April 26th to 29th, 2006. The Conference was entitled "Globalization and Higher Education in Africa". ACUHIAM was founded on the recommendation of the Institute of Missiology. Today it presents a network of 15 Catholic Universities in Africa. Prof. John Maviiri, Rector of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi, was elected the new President of ASUNICAM. Marco Moerschbacher of the Institute of Missiology attended the Conference as an observer.

Final declaration
