The section “Management of the Institute” comprises all the tasks and responsibilities which are connected to the Management of the Institute of Missiology.

This includes in particular:

• Control and co-ordination of academic activities 
• Carrying out and co-ordination of academic research projects
• Co-ordination of the various sections of the Institute
• Management
• External representation
• Fund-raising
• Projects and tasks above department level 
• Committee work (Management, General Meeting, Academic Board)
• Personnel management
• Setting the focus of the Institute’s work
• Annual planning and evaluation of the academic activities
• Editor-in-chief of the book series “Third World Theology”.
• Representation of the Institute at missio     

The Executive Director of the MWI is responsible for running the MWI and is answerable to the Managing Committee (directly) and the General Meeting (indirectly) as far as the fulfilment of the aims and purpose of the Association as agreed upon in the   statutes   is concerned. 

Assigned directly to him are:

• Management Secretariat (Irene Oyen) 
• Translation Department/Editorial Assistance for the book series “Third World Theology” (Ulrike Kaps) 

The following are assigned to the Institute’s Executive Director:
