In the
eighties (1981-1990) the work of the MWI developed itself for the
purpose of the building up of an intercontinental network of
theologians. Increasingly the Institute took over the task and
function of a platform and a catalyst for the academic exchange
amongst the Local Churches in the South. Simultaneously in 1981 the
